Trelya Receive Fantastic News

Great News for Cornish Project

One of the organisations we funded to provide employment and training, via their ‘Gul’ project, has received some more fantastic news.

In October 2020, Trelya applied for funding from the Government’s new ‘Health and Wellbeing Fund’ – which aims to reduce health inequalities among new mothers and babies – and have recently heard that they are 1 of only 19 successful projects chosen.

This will allow them to develop and expand their work over the next 3 years, including specialist provision for new mothers, children (from pregnancy to 2.5 years), and their families. They are now able to expand their ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted-registered nursery ‘Skylar’.

Sharon Rich, Trelya’s Executive Director, told us, “I’m thrilled to share news of our success.  We can now enhance the work we are already doing through ‘Skylar’ and support even more of the most vulnerable children and their families across Penwith. Thousands of organisations applied, and we are one of only nineteen organisations to receive the funding across the UK, one of only two in the South West, and the only project here in Cornwall. I feel confident that the funding we have received from CLLD for ‘Gul,’ supported the strength of our application and demonstrated our robustness as an organisation. So, thank you once again for your support, we really appreciate it”.
